The fellowship program in child abuse and neglect at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia provides comprehensive training to physicians interested in dedicating their clinical, research, and advocacy skills to the care of maltreated children.

In 1985, the division of General Pediatrics at The Children's Hospital developed a fellowship in Child Abuse and Neglect. This unique fellowship provides training to pediatricians with a special interest in the care of abused children. The fellowship prepares the physician in training for a career in the prevention and care of abused children. The fellows is involved in the clinical care of abused children, including court testimony related to children seen at the hospital, research in the field of abuse, education of medical personnel, and learns the multidisciplinary approach to caring for abused children. The fellow is actively involved in a variety of activities related to the care of abused children.
