The Child Abuse Assessment Center of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center

The Child Abuse Assessment Center of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center is offering a one or two year fellowship in forensic pediatrics.  The fellow will become proficient in the evaluation of all areas of child maltreatment including physical abuse and neglect, sexual abuse, drug endangerment, and emotional maltreatment.  There will be the opportunity to participate in regional multidisciplinary case staffings, as well as statewide fatality review meetings.  He or she will also be able to participate in outreach education, clinical research, and legislative advocacy endeavors, as well as legal proceedings related to cases.

The clinical base is at ChildHelp Children’s Center of Arizona, a multidisciplinary center in Phoenix which houses professionals from law enforcement, child protective services, mental health clinicians, and medical personnel. We also provide services at four other regional advocacy centers, as well as three area hospitals.  This fellowship will be available after March 1, 2009.
