Scholar MembershipPhysicians who have completed or are enrolled in a fellowship program with significant child maltreatment (CM) content, or, have demonstrated a career commitment to CM, and who have potential for leadership in the CM field, are eligible for admission to the Helfer Society as scholar members. A current regular member may nominate a scholar, using the Scholar Application Form. Scholar applications for the Helfer Society can be submitted at any time, but they are reviewed on a quarterly basis by the Chair of the Membership Committee and they must be complete for review. Review dates are January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1 of each year.
All supporting documents that are not included with your application submission should be emailed to Dee Dee Bandy at [email protected]. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all materials are provided. Membership as a scholar does not automatically lead to regular membership. Scholars do not have voting privileges. They are assessed the same membership dues of $275/year as regular members as well as the same fee as regular members for the annual Helfer Society meeting. |
