LeadershipStephen C. Boos, M.D., is the Executive Editor of The Quarterly. He chooses the articles to be reviewed, reviews some himself, assigns others to reviewers known for their expertise and knowledge of the subject, and edits the reviews, giving particular attention to the medical data being presented and its relevance to practical application. Dr Boos is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Medical School at Baystate, and Medical Director of the Family Advocacy Center at Baystate Children’s Hospital in Springfield MA. He is a member of the Ray E Helfer Society, The American Academy of Pediatrics, the Massachusetts Chapter of The American Academy of Pediatrics, and the AAP Section on Child Abuse and Neglect. Kenneth W. Feldman, MD, is the Associate Editor of The Quarterly. He is an attending physician at the Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center (CHRMC) and a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington, School of Medicine in the General Pediatrics Division. He is the former Medical Director of the Children’s Protection Program and currently is on it’s consulting staff at CHRMC, while maintaining a half-time primary care practice at the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic. He previously attended in the Emergency Department, general wards and intensive care unit at CHRMC. He completed his undergraduate and medical school training from 1962-1970 at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Internship 1970-1971 and residency 1972-1972 were at the Univ. of Washington & CHRMC. He has conducted research in childhood injuries, both accidental and abusive. He was a member of the executive committee of the AAP’s Section on Child Abuse and Neglect. He was a member and a past executive committee member of the Helfer Society. He is associate editor of the Quarterly. He was awarded the AAP’s Practitioner Research Award in 1991 for his work on tap water burn injuries. He received the Helfer Society’s Ray Helfer award in 2008 and The AAP’s SOCAN/COCAN 2016 Award for Outstanding Service to Maltreated Children. |
